As we near the end of July, it is with great sorrow that we say our farewells to our beloved Fr. Alex as our Parochial Vicar, wishing him well at his new parish of St Philip and St James in Philipsburg.

As we enter August, we welcome our new Parochial Vicar, Fr. Ronal, who comes to us from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Bernardsville. Fr. Ronal also holds the office of Hispanic Lay Formation Assistant, which is under the Office for Multicultural Ministry at the Diocese.

PLEASE NOTE:

Aug 1: THERE WILL BE NO FIRST FRIDAY HOLY HOUR IN AUGUST.
Aug 14/15: Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary - a Holy Day of Obligation
Due to Labor Day:
- Aug 29, 30 & 31: There is no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
- Sep 1: The Parish Office will be closed.
- Sep 1: There WILL be the usual Monday night Rosary and Mass.

  - Registrations open until September 3.
  - CRE Volunteers needed.
- CYO JR SAINTS Basketball signups have started and will be open until Sep 1. This is for grades 1 & 2.
- JUBILIEE PILGRIMAGE TO THE BASILICA OF THE NATIONAL SHRINE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION in Washington DC.
  - Sep 20 - bus trip for the pilgrimage
    - 6AM: bus leaves from MMoG, will stop for breakfast on the way to the basilica.
    - 10PM: bus returns to MMoG, will stop for dinner on the way back.
  - Sign up now to ensure your seat on our bus trip.
  - Registration and payment must be made in the Parish Office.
  - Payment does not include food at the basilica or during bus stops.

PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING SOME OF OUR MINISTRIES and GROUPS, the following in particular have needs:

Adoration: Permanent Adorer needed for 1PM on Fridays starting in August.
A/V: volunteers at all weekend Masses, and to help with the screen presentations
Altar Servers: at the 9AM Mass
Children's Religious Ed Volunteers
Ushers: at the 12 Noon Mass
EMs: to visit the Homebound and Nursing Homes

Parish Group and Ministry Events

A/V Ministry - Adults 20+ are welcome to join this ministry
- New volunteers are needed and welcome!
Bereavement Support - All who are grieving, welcome
- No Sessions over the summer.
- FALL SESSION DATES:
  - 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 11/26
Circle of Friends - Adults 55+ welcome
- No meetings to be held in August.
Faith on Tap- Adults 18 - 40 welcome
- Upcoming gatherings on hold.
Hispanic Ministry - All in our Hispanic Community welcome (in Spanish)
- No meeting in August.
HS Youth Group - All high school students welcome (YC - Youth Center)
- There will be 2 Sunday night gatherings in August. Dates will be announced at Mass and via text blast.
Men's Group - All men 18+ welcome
- Jul 26, Aug 9 & 23: 8-10AM in SFH.
Rosary Altar Society - All women 18+ welcome
- Meetings to start back up in September, enjoy the summer!
Prayer Shawl Ministry - All welcome, will even teach how to knit/crochet
- Jul 23, Aug 6 & 20: 1-5PM in SFH.
Thousand Hail Marys - All welcome
- Aug 2: following the 8:30AM Mass in the Chapel.
Women's Ministry - All women 18+ welcome
- No meetings to be held in August.

Parish EDUCATION EVENTS:

OCIA
- If interested in receiving Catholic Sacraments of Initiation, contact ocia@marymotherofgod.org.
- Inquiry session is August 24th.
- Catechetical sessions for the new year start September 7th.
OCIA Adapted for Young Persons
- For those in 3^rd grade up to age 16 wishing to complete their Sacraments of Initiation preparation, registration opened June 15, 2025. Please contact ociachildren@marymotherofgod.org for more information.
PreK, Preschool and Kindergarten Enrichment (KE)
- 2025/2026 Registrations are open.
- Parent Orientations:
  - August 12, 5 - 6PM in HSH: PreK (4 yr olds)

Jul 26: Hispanic Coffee Social** after the 6:30PM Hispanic Mass, in HSH: WITH GRATITUDE AND JOY: A CELEBRATION FOR FR. ALEX.
Jul 29 - Jul 31 in Hewitt, NJ: QUO VADIS - A spiritual and fun retreat for young men ages 14 - 17, to prayerfully see where God is leading them.

- 9AM: Pilgrimage leaving Post Office in South Bound Brook, ending at Mary Mother of God Church.
- 2PM: Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels, patron saint of Costa Rica. Mass will be followed by refreshments in HSH.
